As the General Counsel for the Wayne County Land Bank, Zanita oversees legal matters concerning the Land Bank including representation in litigation, ensures the Land Bank’s compliance with laws and regulations, formation documents, and its policies and procedures.
Prior to joining the Land Bank, Zanita was a solo practitioner handling family, probate, landlord tenant, and civil matters. Zanita previously worked as a contract attorney with the Maurice and Jane Sugar Law Center for Economic & Social Justice, and a staff attorney for Neighborhood Legal Services Michigan.
Zanita graduated from University of Detroit Mercy and University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. In her spare time, Zanita enjoys her family, mentoring law students, traveling, and running.
