Carrie Beth joins Wayne County from New Orleans, where she earned a PhD in Urban Studies and a Masters in Urban Planning. Carrie Beth brings a broad background in land use, environmental planning and housing policy. Her experience includes developing hazard mitigation policy at the local, state, and federal levels and working on post-disaster rebuilding projects after Hurricane Katrina, making her no stranger to assisting communities in crisis. In addition to her role at the Wayne County Land Bank, Carrie Beth teaches geography and geographical information systems (GIS) at Wayne State University and proudly calls Hamtramck, Michigan home, where she serves on the City’s Zoning Board and is active in her community.
